Hero

K9MD Hero was generously donated to K9MD by Claire and Lyell from Flagstaff Kennels. 

Hero is confident in everything he does and exhibits all the traits we look for in a quality working-line dog. Hero and Weta are our Canine Bowel Cancer detection team. 

Hero has completed 2 research trials for K9MD. In his proof of concept validation Hero checked 300 samples in 5 days with a success of 100% sensitivity (correctly identifying all samples with cancer) and 97.2% specificity (correctly ignoring all samples without cancer).

Hero also completed a clinical trial testing healthy cells versus diseased cells. Hero checked 225 samples in 3 days with a success of 96% sensitivity and 98.6% specificity.

Hero is currently working towards his Diagnostic Accuracy Validation scheduled for late 2026.
